Kent Brusett is a Thoracic Surgeon who moved to the North State in 2001. He was born and raised in Montana. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Walla Walla College, earned a medical degree at Loma Linda University, and completed his general surgery residency at Waterbury Hospital Health Center, a Yale affiliated hospital. During the course of  his general surgery training he completed a transplant research fellowship at Yale University. After completing his general surgery residency, he completed a 3 year thoracic surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Brusett performs a broad variety thoracic, vascular, and general surgery procedures. With respect to thoracic surgery Dr. Brusett specializes in the treatment of lung cancer, benign lung masses, mediastinal tumors, hiatal hernias, and diaphragmatic defects.  He is the only thoracic surgeon in the north state using the Da Vinci platform to perform thoracic robotic surgical procedures. With respect to vascular disease Dr. Brusett specializes in the open treatment of occlusive aortoiliac disease and the open treatment of lower extremity peripheral vascular disease. With respect to general surgery Dr. Brusett performs a broad variety of procedures related to surgical disease of the gallbladder, colon, stomach, pancreas, and spleen. He is well versed in the use robotic assisted surgery to perform many of these procedures.
